Many names called for the resignation of CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who left the 2nd round of elections held on 28 May with a defeat. Kılıçdaroğlu, who deafened his ears to the calls, broke his silence 12 days after the elections.
“WHY DON’T YOU RESIGN?”
To Kılıçdaroğlu, who participated in the live broadcast of Sözcü TV, “You could have said that you would resign on the election night, you did not say. You left the voters alone for 12 days. Why did you do this?” posed the question.
Kılıçdaroğlu said:
“We went to the streets with our 6 leaders and 2 mayor friends. what method to follow.
“WE COLLECTED OUR DEPUTS AND WORKED ON ALL THE DETAILS”
We gathered the VQA and our deputies and studied them in detail. We evaluated the situation. I don’t want to dishonor anyone, even those who are not on the lists made an effort. Wherever there was a gap, it was left somehow.
“WE MADE THE DECISION TO GATHER THE COUNCIL”
Then we came to this decision. There is a demand, what should we do, we will convene our congress. We received the criticism, we took the decision of the congress. Again, we left the authority to our party members. Congress before local elections. My opinion is that the congress should be held before the local elections.”
