While the photo of Erdogan and Sisi shaking hands remains on the agenda, surprise Syrian exit from Egypt!

While President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s handshake with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi in Doha, where he went to attend the opening of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, remained on the agenda, Egypt reacted to Turkey’s military operations against Syria.

CALL TO “STOP OPERATIONS” TO TURKEY

After the USA and Russia, Egypt also opposed Turkey’s operation against the PKK/YPG terrorist organization in Syria, while the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for Turkey to immediately cease its operations against Syria and Iraq.

“WE FOLLOW THE ATTACKS WITH GREAT CONCERN”

Arguing that Turkey’s operations are against the sovereignty of Syria and Iraq, Egypt said, “We are following with great concern the attacks carried out by Turkey and Iran in the recent days against the sister Arab countries of Iraq and Syria. These attacks are a violation of the sovereignty of the two countries.”

“WE ARE CALLING FOR VOLTAGE LOWERING”

According to the news in Sözcü, in the statement published with the signature of Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid, “Egypt calls for de-escalation in order to prevent bloodshed and further instability.”
