WhatsApp now allows you to share your mobile screen: this is how it works

WhatsApp calls have become the easiest way to communicate with friends and family. However, when it came to the business section, the application limped compared to other similar services. Well, to attack this directly, Meta has decided to improve its app. Hereinafter you can share your screen during video callsso that all members can see the same as you.

This feature was announced a couple of months ago for those using the beta version of the service. Nevertheless, It was not until yesterday that Mark Zuckerberg himself confirmed from his Facebook account rolling out this feature to all WhatsApp users. This new method of communication is added to two recent premieres on the platform. Among the latter we find the ability to start chats with unknown numbers and the ability to send Telegram-style video messages.

Besides this addition, users will now be able to choose the orientation of their phone when making a video call. Until then, this communication feature was designed to be exploited in a vertical format. However, from the new update, the application will automatically adapt to the landscape in case you want to have your mobile in landscape mode.

How to use the new screen sharing feature in WhatsApp video calls

To implement this new function, it is as simple as starting a video call from WhatsApp. Here, you can tap on the icon Share and choose to broadcast everything that happens on your screen or in a specific application. Thus, Meta gives more choice and flexibility to its users.

On the other hand, the option of Screen sharing during WhatsApp video calls will be available for iOS, Android and Windows versions. Although a deployment date on macOS and WhatsApp Web has not been announced, it is expected to arrive soon, since Meta confirmed its intention that all platforms can enjoy this feature.

If you want to try this new feature, all you have to do is run and update your WhatsApp app to the latest version. If you can’t find the screen share button after this step, you may have to wait a while for it to be activated on your account. After all, these massive deployments can take weeks to become effective for some people.

Meta continues to work on turning WhatsApp into a competitor worthy of its rivals. Although it is one of the most widely used messaging apps in the world, it does lack many functions that services like Telegram have already integrated for some time. However, with the latest batch of additions that Zuckerberg’s company has been releasing, this could be the best time to be a user of the service.
