the dutch Max Verstappen (Red Bull) was the fastest this Saturday in the last free practice of the Australian Grand Prix, at the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne, ahead of the Spanish Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin). In his best lap, Verstappen, current world champion and who has never won in Australia, set a time of one minute, 17 seconds and 565 thousandths, on soft tyres.

The Dutchman, who also came first in the first free practice sessions on Friday, was 162 thousandths faster than the Spaniard Fernando Alonso, second, and the Frenchman Esteban Ocon (Alpine), who set the third best time at 373 thousandths of a second, all of them on soft tyres. The Spanish Carlos Sainz (Ferrari), who occupied the top positions in the first part of these last tests, finished in seventh place, 562 thousandths of a second behind the leader.

After the third and last free practice, this Saturday the qualification is also disputedwhich will order the starting formation for Sunday’s race: scheduled for 58 laps to complete a 306.1-kilometre route.
