The US Department of Defense Pentagon made a new statement regarding Turkey’s Operation Claw-Sword against the PKK/YPG terrorist organization.
“THREEEN THE SAFETY OF US MILITARY PERSONNEL”
In a written statement signed by Pentagon Air Forces Commander Pat Ryder, it was noted that Turkey’s operation in Syria threatened the security of US military personnel and increased tensions in the years-long war against DAESH.
“THREEEN IRAQ’S SOVEREIGN”
The statement included the following: “The Ministry of Defense is deeply concerned by the escalating actions in northern Syria, Iraq and Turkey. This escalation threatens the Global Coalition in years of progress to weaken and defeat Daesh. The latest airstrikes in Syria are trying to defeat It directly threatened the security of US personnel working with local partners in Syria, and uncoordinated military actions threaten Iraq’s sovereignty.
“IMMEDIATELY NEED TO REDUCE THE VOLTAGE”
It is necessary to de-escalate immediately to focus on the task of defeating DAESH and to ensure the safety of personnel committed to the mission of defeating DAESH. We condemn the civilian casualties in Turkey and Syria as a result of these actions and express our condolences. We are also concerned about reports of deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure.”
“THE HARDEST REACTION EVER”
At the end of the statement, it was noted that the United States understands Turkey’s legitimate security concerns and will continue to negotiate with Turkey and local partners to arrange a ceasefire. Reuters news agency stated that the statement was the harshest reaction of the USA to Turkey’s operation in Syria to date. The US, which supports the Syrian Democratic Forces, to which the PKK/YPG is affiliated, has approximately 900 soldiers in northern Syria.
