The ‘Spissu case’ has once again stirred the waters in Los Guindos in the middle of 2023, although it seems that now the end has come. The Sassari Dynamo took legal action against the Unicaja for stopping the signing of Marco Spissu after he did not pass the medical examinations, according to the version of the Malaga entity, and, after the judicial resolution, it is the compositor club will have to compensate with an economic amount of 100,000 euros.
This is how the transalpine team explained it on its website: “Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari fully welcomes the decision taken by the Basketball Court of Arbitration (BAT) confirming the goodness of the club’s position and its right to be compensated based on the contractual agreements reached in July 2021 for the transfer of the player Marco Spissu to the Spanish club Unicaja Baloncesto Malaga. The company thanks the lawyers Salvatore Civale and Roberto Terenzio for their professional work”.
You have to remember that the compositor club and Marco Spissu reached an agreement in principle in August 2021 to form a couple in the direction of play with Alberto Díaz. However, and as Juanma Rodríguez explained later, the medical services gave birth to a negative report. So the base never got to wear the green shirt and the sports management had to go on the market again to incorporate Norris Cole in this case.
Subsequently, the transalpine signed for Unics Kazan of the Euroleague. He played without major physical problems with the Russians, he played a very good role with his team in the last Eurobasket -where he was the protagonist in the round of 16 against Serbia- and now he competes in the Eurocup Reyer Venezia, the former Yankuba team Chasm.
So Unicaja will now have to pay 100,000 euros and will close a black case that was repeated again with the pivot devin williams only a few months later, although this without major significance.
