The brands C&W Networks and C&W Business, leaders in the provision of telecommunications services in Latin America and the Caribbean, will come together to form Liberty Networksa company that was born with a transforming purpose and a commitment to bring progress, growth and development to the countries where it has a presence.
The announcement was made at the International Telecommunications Week (ITW 2023).
Far from being just a visual and brand change, Liberty Networks announced that it will invest a minimum of US$250 million up front over the next five years, including the Dominican Republic, to expand and improve its terrestrial and submarine reach, and increase its business solutions.
Ray Collins, Senior Vice President of Infrastructure and Corporate Strategy for Liberty Latin America and who leads the operation, commented on the rebrand: “Today is an important moment for our employees and customers. We are introducing our new brand to reflect who we are, a customer-focused connectivity provider, enabling growth across the region,” he explained.
He added that “The new brand is one more step on our path as we continue to drive this business forward, investing in our infrastructure and business solutions to meet the digital and connectivity needs of our customers, small and large. We are very excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and see exponential demand for capacity and solutions across this rapidly growing region.”
Currently, Liberty Networks has the most advanced fiber optic technology infrastructure in Latin America and the Caribbean, connecting approximately 40 countries with almost 50,000 kilometers (km) of submarine cable of optical fiber and 17,000 kilometers (km) of terrestrial cable. That is, a monumental amount of data and information being transported from one place to another in less than the blink of an eye. In addition, it operates seven data centers to provide data services. public cloud and private cloud.
The company, in addition to its connectivity service, also offers business products and services within its portfolio, including a complete portfolio of IT and communications services to large and medium-sized companies, and governments in Latin America.

Operation in the Dominican Republic
In the case of the Dominican Republic, this is undoubtedly the most important market for the company in Central America and the Caribbean, and for this reason the intention is to strengthen its presence. Liberty Networks handles three of the five submarine cables in the country and has an important client portfolio in sectors such as finance, tourism, hotels, among others.
