It’s not your internet connection; TikTok is down. The popular video application developed by ByteDance has stopped working for a large part of its users in Spain for just a few minutes, according to data from downdetector. This is all we know so far.
The problems, specifically, have started around 10:45 in the morning, when many users have noticed that, when entering the app, the following message appeared: “the video cannot be played”. TikTok does allow access to the different sections of the app, such as the profile, notifications or messages. Videos in the For You section and the Following tab, however, do not play correctly.
Although the “video cannot be played” message usually appears when someone is having internet connection problems, the notice has appeared massively to all TikTok users around the world, revealing that it was It is a global service drop.
Many users have also turned to downdetector to report that TikTok is not working properly. Most agree on charging problems. That is, the application barely plays the videos. Another small number of users also claim that the website is not working normally.
At the moment, the company has not commented on the matter.
