The members of the winning women’s team dedicated the trophy to the countrymen. The captain of the team Sabina Khatun told reporters after a reception at the airport.

Sabinara landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 1:50 PM. After that, Minister of State for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel along with the secretary of the ministry and BAFFE officials gave a warm welcome to the tigresses.

In response to a question from journalists, he said, ‘This trophy belongs to the people of Bangladesh. We are grateful to everyone. And pray for everyone.’

After the reception at the airport, the double-decker bus traveled with Sabina to the Bangladesh Football Federation. They will speak formally there.

Bangladesh women footballers beat host Nepal 3-1 last Monday to win the SAFF title. All the awards of Saaf Women’s Championship were held by Bangladesh. Sabina Khatun as the top scorer of the tournament, Krishna Rani Sarkar as the man of the match and Rupana Chakma as the best goalkeeper.
