There was no surprise at the Volcano! Tigres enters the league eliminating Puebla

The tigers avoided surprise repechage and by the minimum they managed to defeat a goal by zero to Puebla at the University Stadium.

The duel began even with a semi-slow pace with both squads measuring themselves without putting the accelerator on.

As expected in the match, the locals were the ones who handled the ball with the most possession, however, the visitors held their own.

Little by little, the Tigres found a way to generate important goals against Antony Silva’s goal, but the Paraguayan goalkeeper grew with three straight saves at the end of the first half.

The long-awaited goal for the cats finally came at the feet of Sebastián Córdova in connection with Diego Lainez who found his partner who shot the Puebla goalkeeper from the left.

Minutes later, Puebla found themselves with a golden opportunity with a penalty in their favor due to a handball from Diego Reyes in the area, however, Diego de Buen missed from eleven steps after a long wait in the penalty spot for a series of modifications of both teams prior to collection.

With this result, the cats will face Toluca in the quarterfinals in a very attractive key at the big party.
