Torremolinos will host the Absolute Andalucía Championship and Winter Junior Open from March 10 to 12. The Virgen del Carmen pool will be the sports facility that welcomes the best swimmers in the Community in an event that will bring together the elite of Andalusian swimming.
ANDhe Councilor for Sports, Ramón Alcaide, in the company of Toñi Vázquez, delegate of the Andalusian Swimming Federation, has presented this sporting event which once again places Torremolinos as the “epicenter” of Andalusian swimming, Alcaide has highlighted while he wanted to highlight the town’s firm commitment to hosting level events that contribute to the seasonality of the municipality.
“The competition will bring together close to 500 swimmers in the municipality, in addition to concentrating a large number of family members and swimming fans in the local aquatic area, generating, in this way, an outstanding economic impact in the town”, has indicated the mayor of Sports.
For her part, the delegate of the Andalusian Swimming Federation, Toñi Vázquez, wanted, first of all, thank the Torremolinos City Council for the willingness and effort it has had to make so that Malaga clubs could train in the aquatic facilities of Torremolinos due to the closure of Inacua, a performance that according to Vázquez has allowed “to save swimming in Malaga”.
The Absolute Andalucía Championship and Winter Junior Open will be held over three days (March 10, 11 and 12) putting all modalities and distances of swimming in the fray. Specifically, 454.
