He Malaga CF Live this Sunday one of the most important games of the season. The blue and white team visits Ibiza, a direct rival to aspire to first place in Group 2 of Primera RFEF. However, the bad news surrounds those from Martiricos before landing in Can Misses and that is that Sergio Pellicer will be forced to design the umpteenth defense it’s from the season.
Only at the back, Málaga CF will travel with three confirmed casualties: Einar Galilea -sent off in the 89th minute against Córdoba- and the injured Juande and Moussa. That is to say, he only has two players to play against Fernández Romo’s men: Nélson Monte and Diego Murillo. A new puzzle to which the coach from Castellón is already accustomed this season and, above all, these last weeks of competition with work in the infirmary at full capacity.
Of the 12 games that the blue and white team has played so far -11 in the First RFEF and 1 in the Cup-, Sergio Pellicer has had to use up to six different defensive lines. The technician had found stability with Víctor García-Juande-Nélson-Jokin. However, the left-back’s injury already forced him to alter the plans that had worked so well for him up to that point.
A few weeks later, Juande’s absence arrived. So he was forced to change again to Dani Sánchez-Einar-Nélson-Jokin. A line with less consistency at the back than the previous one – the most used on four occasions – and that now has to change again after Einar’s expulsion in the last league match.
Murillo, the chosen one?
The truth is that there are not many possibilities when visiting Ibiza. In fact, there’s really only one. Murillo seems to have been chosen to accompany Nelson in the center of the defense due to the lack of replacements in the blue and white squad, this position being one of the candidates to reinforce during the winter market.
The youth player, now in his natural position, has given a good example of his performance in recent games. He was key to stop Loren Burón in El Maulí in the second half and it was also fundamental in the cup confrontation against Barakaldo, becoming one of the great beneficiaries in the last succession of matches.
The countless casualties in the center of the field leave the chances of slowing down a midfielder are minimal. It would not be the first time that Genaro has to replace a center back at Málaga CF. However, the fact of having the Sevillian and Dani Lorenzo as the only natural midfielders forces the captain to be placed in the midfield.
Víctor García already works with the group
What does seem like good news is the return to Víctor García’s training, still partially and progressive along with the rest of his colleagues. The winger had given an impeccable performance from the left wing at the start of the league season, being one of the great players when it came to connecting with Roberto and Dioni through the crosses.
We will have to wait to see how the next few days of work develop. It was already a name that Pellicer mentioned in the press conference prior to the Andalusian derby and it could be, as a result of needs, a name to take into account this Sunday. It will be seen if he is a starter or a substitute, but it would be a long-awaited return for restore stability to a very affected defensive line in recent weeks due to injuries and sanctions.
