It’s been a month since Apple officially announced the iPhone 15 and 15 Pro, but rumors about the company’s next smartphones are already making themselves known. Specifically, analyst Jeff Pu states, through information related to the supply chain, that the next iPhone 16 It will arrive with better Wi-Fi and 5G connections. Also, with larger screens, as well as a new ultra-wide-angle camera.
According to the report seen by 9to5Mac, the iPhone 16 Pro, which would be equipped with a new A18 Bionic chip, will have faster 5G and WiFi connections than current models. This is because the device iwill include a new 5G modem developed by Qualcomm; the Snapdragon X75, which integrates a new standard capable of offering download speeds of up to 7.5 Gbps. The iPhone 16 Pro, on the other hand, will feature Wi-Fi 7which would allow speeds of up to 46 Gbps.
Jeff Pu also states that iPhone 16 screens will grow 0.2 inches regarding the iPhone 15. These, remember, have sizes of 6.1 and 6.6 inches. This increase in the diagonal of the panels could allow the company to include a periscope camera in the more compact iPhone 16 Pro, so, next year, not only the Pro Max will be able to take photos with a 5x optical zoom .
Apple, on the other hand, could finally update the ultra-wide-angle camera of the iPhone Pro models. The iPhone 16 Pro is expected to include a 48-megapixel sensor, instead of the 12 megapixel one that the company has been integrating since the iPhone 13. This would allow higher resolution and better quality images, especially in low light conditions. Although we must also take into account other factors, such as the focal aperture of the camera, which is unknown at the moment.
No big changes to the iPhone 16
Unfortunately, no changes expected to the ultra-wide-angle camera of the iPhone 16 base models. In fact, these smartphones will maintain the dual 48 and 12 megapixel lenses that the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus include. They will arrive, however, with a new processor: an A17 chip slightly lower than the 17 Pro in terms of performance.
The iPhone 16 They will not have the improvements in terms of 5G either which we will see in the iPhone 16 Pro. Apple, in fact, will not incorporate Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X75 modem. The next base models, however, will arrive with support for Wi-Fi 6e.
At the moment, it is unknown when the iPhone 16 will be announced, but the company is likely to officially present them in September 2024.
