The Royal Society continues unstoppable

The Real society won the Lightning in a game that dominated from the first part with goals from the Norwegian Alexander Sorloth and Ander Barrenetxea and added three very valuable points that equal Real Madrid, second in the table, in the standings.

The Basque team, after eight consecutive victories and qualified for the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey, arrived in Vallecas launched in terms of results but with some concern about the large number of casualties with which they appeared in the Madrid coliseum.

Two pieces fell from the magic diamond that Martín Zubimendi, Mikel Merino, Brais Méndez and David Silva are forming, Zubimendi due to suspension and Merino due to injury. Imanol Alguacil decided to bet instead on Asier Illarramendi and the young Pablo Marín, who adapted perfectly to the tactical scheme and performed at a high level.

Rayo came out onto the pitch with great impetus and dedication, although hardly creating any danger, except with the arrivals from the wingers of Isi Palazón and Álvaro García, but it was Real Sociedad who hit the goal on their first arrival.

At fourteen minutes, David Silva recovered a ball after a Rayo throw-instarted the race towards the area and assisted the back of Fran García so that Alexander Sorloth finished low before the departure of Stole Dimitrievski.

From that goal, Real Sociedad imposed its hierarchy and dominated the match against the impotence of Rayo, which prevented so much order from developing its usual vertical game with speed on the wings in search of Sergio Camello, very unassisted throughout the First half.

Before the break, Real Sociedad extended their lead on the scoreboard. He did it after a corner kick from the left that Aritz Elustondo extended at the near post and at the second, completely alone, Barrenetxea pushed for a goal.

In the second part, Rayo took a step forward and his tactic allowed him to gain meters and begin to multiply his approaches on the goal of Alex Remiro, who saved his team with a very good save two minutes after the restart from a header from Santi Comesaña, who came onto the pitch at halftime.

Shortly after, it was Álvaro García who found a ball inside Real Sociedad’s area and his shot crashed into Illarramendi’s face to despair of the Vallecana fanswhich he verified helplessly as his team was incapable of harming the Basque team.

Pablo Marín, after an individual play that ended with a shot that forced Dimitrievski to stretchwas able to sentence the clash for Real, who ended up celebrating the ninth consecutive win of the season that allows them to continue unstoppable and also settled in the noble zone of the table.
