OnePlus confirmed at the beginning of the year its intention to launch its first folding smartphone, and it is finally official. The company has presented in India the OnePlus Open, its alternative to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 or the Honor Magic V2, which comes with a compact design and lower weight compared to traditional mobile phones, as well as a powerful camera, as its assets.
The new OnePlus Open, specifically, is a “book-type” folding smartphone, where its screen is displayed in horizontal format. It arrives with a design very similar to the rest of the brand’s smartphones, with the characteristic circular camera module and the classic green color that debuted with the OnePlus 11.
It also stands out for its flex-type hinge, the same one included in the Oppo Find N and which allows the wrinkle on the screen to be barely visible. OnePlus also claims that its mobile phone is capable of resisting 1 million folds; about 100 folds a day for 10 years.

This is what the OnePlus Open cameras are like
One of the main features of the OnePlus Open is, we reiterate, its camera. The brand’s first foldable, specifically, arrives with three sensors, including a 48-megapixel primary one. It is a sensor Sony LYTIA-T808and includes a technology called Pixel Stacked, which allows you to take photographs with more light and better detail, despite the fact that the sensor size is relatively smaller than the Sony IMX989.
The main camera is accompanied by an ultra-wide-angle sensor with 48 megapixel resolution, as well as a 64 megapixel telephoto camera. This, specifically, allows you to capture images with a 3x optical zoom, as well as a 6x hybrid zoom and a digital zoom of up to 120x.
The OnePlus Open, on the other hand, has two front cameras. One on the outside screen, which has a 32 megapixel resolutionand another front one, with a resolution of 20 megapixels.
OnePlus has also maintained collaboration with Hasselblad with the aim of improving processing and including different functions, such as a portrait mode.
