After the elections, a new term started in the Turkish Grand National Assembly. The 28th term deputies take their oath at the General Assembly chaired by MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli. Deputies come to the podium according to the alphabetical order of the provinces.
OSMAN GÖKÇEK READ THE Oath WRONG TEXT
AK Party Ankara Deputy Osman Gökçek misread the text of the oath and had his oath repeated after objections. In a statement on the subject on social media, Gökçek said, “I read the oath again after the objection of CHP’s Murat Emir, who said that reading the PKK terrorist organization’s anthem is not a reason for appointing a trustee. If only he could show them arm in arm with those who say “herds”.
CEMIL YAMAN ALSO READ WRONG
After Gökçek, AK Party Kocaeli Deputy Cemil Yaman misread the text of the oath. MHP leader Devlet Bahceli, who is the chairman of the parliament, said, “Mr. Deputy, the text of the oath specified in Article 81 of the Constitution was not read exactly. For this reason, the oath must be repeated.” He called Yaman back to the podium with his words. Then Yaman repeated his oath.
