This is one of Huawei’s most powerful options that comes with a tremendously interesting specification sheet and that comes to compete against the two most interesting foldables, pardon Samsung’s: the Oppo Find N2 and the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2. Compared to these models, it has a similar design, yes, but also some significant differences. It’s considerably thinner than the thickness of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 (15.8mm when fully folded) and also slightly thinner than the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2, which is 11.2mm thick. In addition, in terms of weight, a relevant feature for foldables, the Huawei Mate X3 also does, with 239 grams compared to 263 grams for the Samsung foldable and 262 grams for the Xiaomi model.
Huawei Mate X3: high-end specifications
Its specifications, on the other hand, are at the top of the range. The Huawei Mate X3 mounts an incredible 7.85-inch flexible OLED panel with a resolution of 2,496 x 2,224 pixels and a variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. It also has a 6.4-inch outdoor screen, although this is limited to a Full HD + resolution, but it maintains the refresh rate at 120 Hz, although it is not adaptive. Its autonomy is backed by a 4,800mAh battery.
The Mate X3 also wants to reinforce one of the most important weaknesses of folding: durability. According to Huawei, the Mate X3 adopts a new generation multi-dimensional hinge that is lightweight, durable. A wing-shaped dual-track rotary axis has been included, allows precise and effortless movement, and is made from “aircraft-grade” aluminum alloy.
