“There is less time left for the great sports festival, a top-level sporting event with record registrations. Those registered must collect their bib number at the places and times indicated above. “where they will also receive the runner’s bag, consisting of a t-shirt, vest, socks and we will also have an explanatory panel with the route of the race, which can also be consulted, along with the regulations of the test, at dorsalchip.es”, indicated the Councilor for Sports.

The councilor pointed out that “as a novelty this year also We are going to have a lively band and a playroom service., because we have at least 15 people registered who have requested it and who will be able to leave their children, from 4 to 12 years old, with complete peace of mind at the Los Andaluces booth, where we will have a team that has prepared a sports gymkhana for the children in which they will have a great time. In addition, at the time of the test they will also be able to sign up their children. Another notable novelty is that the test will be broadcast live through FTV in streaming and also through its YouTube channel.”

As a culmination, at the end of the race there will be a celebration a gift raffle thanks to the contributions of more than twenty businesses in our business network that will total more than 3,600 euros.

traffic cuts

For her part, the Councilor for Mobility, Isabel González, explained that “the route starts from the Fairgrounds, but extends from the Paseo Marítimo, Héroes de Baler, Jesús Santos Rein Avenue and the entire section of Los Boliches until reaching the Torreblanca roundabout. A route that involves closing the entire city to traffic from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., as the law indicates to guarantee the safety of the runners during the race. For this we will have a large device made up of volunteers and Civil Protection to assist the runners.in addition to an important Local Police device, which will be at the different intersections so that the test can be carried out with all the guarantees.”

For this reason, the councilor has asked the residents of Fuengirola for understanding, “because an event like the Half Marathon, of 21 kilometers, in a city with barely 10 square kilometers like Fuengirola, has a lot of merit, but that also implies cutting a large part of the traffic in the city during the duration of the race. That’s why I ask the neighbors to have foresight and if they have to take the car, to do it before or after the test.” In any case, González explained that “the Local Police, if necessary, will facilitate exit from the blocked streets to streets that do not involve risk and that everything flows as normally as possible.”

In addition, the mayor has indicated that urban transport will not have service between 9:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. “because it is impossible to circulate on those roads during the race, so from 1:00 p.m. the traffic and everything will return to normal.”

Runner assistance

On the other hand, the Councilor for Sports, Julio Rodríguez, explained that, in addition to the test and Civil Protection volunteers, “we will also have five technicians from the Sports Area who will go on motorcycles, distributed in different sections of the route, which will be in permanent communication with the volunteers to support the Local Police. In addition, we will also have four members of SOS Cardiosport, a club that rides a bicycle carrying a defibrillator, in case a cardiorespiratory arrest occurs, I hope it doesn’t happen, but we have seen it in many races and it is important to have a defibrillator nearby. In addition, we will have two ambulances, one at the Fairgrounds and another at the Los Boliches Market.”
