The National Security Council (NSC) convened today. The meeting in Beştepe was also the first MGK meeting of the new cabinet. Deputy President Cevdet Yılmaz, Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya, Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, Chief of General Staff General Musa Avsever and force commanders attended the meeting chaired by President Erdoğan.
THE MEETING LASTED 3 HOURS
Hakan Fidan, who had previously participated as the Head of the National Intelligence Organization (MIT), attended the meeting as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yaşar Güler, who was the Chief of the General Staff, as the Minister of National Defense, and İbrahim Kalın as the Head of MIT. The main agenda item at the summit in Beştepe was the fight against terrorism. Issues such as normalization steps with Syria, the Russia-Ukraine War and Sweden’s NATO membership process were also discussed. The meeting lasted 3 hours.
“CONTINUE FIGHTING TERROR” MESSAGE
A written statement was made after the meeting. While the emphasis on the Century of Turkey in the first article drew attention, it was stated that the board was informed about the operations carried out with determination, determination and success against all kinds of threats and dangers. The effects of the Russia-Ukraine war that increase the risks to the region were emphasized, and it was stated that Turkey would continue to contribute to the peace negotiations efforts.
RETURN OF SYRIANS
Emphasizing the importance of international cooperation that will contribute to the voluntary, safe and dignified return of Syrians fleeing the conflicts to their homelands, the importance of the support given to the region during the dialogue process was emphasized in order to prevent the tension in Kosovo from turning into a crisis.
