The vehicle of Turkey’s Ambassador to Khartoum, İsmail Çobanoğlu, was fired on today. While diplomatic sources confirmed the incident, it was stated that there were no casualties or injuries in the incident.
Clashes between the army and the Rapid Support Forces have continued in Sudan since April 15. Rapid Support Forces announced in a post on its social media account that the vehicle of Turkey’s Ambassador to Khartoum İsmail Çobanoğlu was shot at today. The following was recorded in the post:
“The Sudanese Armed Forces opened fire on the vehicle of Turkey’s Ambassador to Sudan, İsmail Çobanoğlu.
The armed attack occurred despite prior coordination of evacuation efforts and despite the fact that the embassy building was under the control of the Sudanese Armed Forces. Despite these attacks, Rapid Support Forces managed to evacuate the Ambassador and his delegation safely.”
An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the incident and noted that there were no casualties or injuries in the incident.
