The third edition of the Bangabandhu Cup 2023 International Kabaddi Tournament begins today. Poland is the opponent of Bangladesh in the opening match. The match will start at 4:30 pm Bangladesh time at Volleyball Stadium next to Kabaddi Stadium in Paltan. The official opening of this year’s event will be a few hours before.
A total of 12 countries from different continents of the world are being organized in this tournament. Five countries participated in the first edition in 2021, eight countries participated in the second edition last year. The teams are divided into two groups. Argentina, Iraq, Nepal, England and Poland are the opponents of Bangladesh in Group A. And Group B consists of Kenya, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Chinese Taipei and Thailand.
Each team will play five matches. The top two teams from the two groups will play in the semi-finals. On the other hand, the previous two times Bangladesh champion, Kenya was the runner-up. Hattrick title in the tournament of Bangladesh.
Habibur Rahman, General Secretary of the Federation and Deputy Inspector General of Police, expressed the hope of winning the championship for the third time in a row and said, ‘Our preparation is good enough. Like the last season, our goal in this season is to win the title.
