Suffering victory for Barça against Red Star

Barça added the sixth victory in the Euroleague although he had to suffer more than necessary against Red Star (86-81) who stood up in the final minutes even though the Blaugrana came to dominate by 17 (42-25).

Jabari Parker’s best game (20 points) and brilliant moments from Willy (18) and Vesely (14) They only had the mole in the dominance of Red Star in the dominance of the offensive rebound (18) that allowed them to maintain and threaten Barça until the end.

Barça entered the duel focused, and thanks to a good initial defense and with Vesely inspired, they started in charge (13-6). The Barça game was fluid while Red Star survived from the offensive rebound. Laprovittola reappeared, although it was noted that he lacked competition rhythm.

Sfeiropoulos was quick to put Teodosic on the court, who woke up his team. Three consecutive actions by the Serbian point guard brought the visitors back into the game, who got closer to just 1, with a 0-8 run after a basket by Mitrovic (15-14).

Grimau brought on Parker and Willy, and Barça regained control after the Americans’ triplee, although with the game more even than what the game indicated thanks to Estrella’s second chances in the offensive rebound (6) and that they were hooked on the scoreboard (21-18).

Great advantage…wasted

Barça started the second quarter with brio and with two clear protagonists: Willy Hernangomez received inside with ease and crushed the visiting ring, along with a Jabari Parker who also wanted the spotlight. In a few very good minutes, the rent quickly rose to 10 (30-20).

Sfeiropoulos stopped the duel but Barça was launched with Willy who put everything in (13 points) and in the best local minutes, the advantage went to a maximum of 17 (42-25) with a Palau that was having a great time.

But that great Barça moment came to a halt with Estrella’s defensive improvement, which with the direction and points of Teodosic –Dos Santos barely had a leading role-, he began to reduce the rent. Without success in attack, it was the Serbians who reacted from the triple and two consecutive ones from Teodosic and Nedovic left the lead at only four at halftime (47-43) and with the feeling that he had given life to the Serbian.

Grimau back on the court with Laprovittola as starter alongside Satoranskyand the team began to move the ball with judgment and success in the triple, which led to dominating the scoreboard again, although not with great differences (60-51).

Estrella gets into the duel

Teodosic returned to the court to organize his team and managed to neutralize Barça (61-57) despite the great minutes of Jabari Parker (18). At the end of the third quarter, the duel tightened with a surge from the Serbians with a partial score of 2-11 (65-62) and everything to be decided.

The inspiration of Giedraitis kept the Serbs very close (65-64) but Barça, with an incisive Jokubaitis, did not allow themselves to be caught on the scoreboard, with Vesely again on the court (74-70). Jokubaitis missed two free throws and Bolomboy brought the visitors within one point after a triple (76-75). Excitement until the end.

Red Star managed to tie with 1:38 left after a two plus one from Mitrovic (78-78) and Vesely responded quickly with a more technical basket including Sfairopoulos (81-78). Teodosic committed doubles, and Parker, at the limit of possession, scored the saving basket (83-78).

A desperate triple by Teodosic caused fear in the final momentsbut a technical to Mitrovic, with free throws scored by Abrines ended up closing a long-suffering victory at the Palau (86-81).
