Australia’s pace star Mitchell Starc has expressed his desire to return to the 2024 edition of IPL, the biggest and most popular event in domestic cricket. He played the last season of IPLA for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2015. Starc did not play IPL after that.
Mitchell Starc has not played for any team in the IPL since 2015. Basically he withdrew his name from all domestic leagues to focus on international cricket. However, the 33-year-old left-arm pacer hinted to return to franchise cricket after eight years.
Stark said, ‘Look it’s been eight years. I am definitely going back next year. It (IPL) will also be a great preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup’.
Starc is thinking of returning to the IPL next year due to less international engagement of Australian cricket. He said, ‘Next year our international engagement is a bit less so I think this is the right opportunity to play in IPL’.
Starc is currently out of the team due to injury. However, he has been included in Australia’s 15-man provisional squad for the World Cup.
