
The third stage of the 78th Vuelta a España presents the first of the ten mountaintop finishes of the 2023 route with an arrival at the station Andorran winter mountain of Arinsal after 8.3 kilometers of ascent. This third day will lead the peloton from Sùria (Barcelona) to Arinsal, with 158.5 kilometers and the ascent to the Ordino passes and after 13 kilometers of descent to Arinsal.
After the initial time trial, which caused outrage among some of the main contenders for the final victory, such as the Belgian Remco Evenepoel (Soudal-Quick Step), who vented stating that it had been “shit, we couldn’t see anything and it was super dangerous”and a second day passed through water at different times, comes the first high finish that will test the strength of the best.
