
India is a scary name for Sri Lanka. In the final of the Asia Cup that ended a few days ago, the Lankans made only 50 all out against India. And today on the ODI World Cup stage, they went down to bat against the target of 358 runs given by Mohammad Siraj and Mohammad Shami and were bowled out for only 55 runs.
And India won by 302 runs. Which is the second biggest loss in World Cup history. Along with this, India confirmed the semi-final of the World Cup as the first team to win this match.
Sri Lanka lost 8 wickets for just 29 runs to bat against the target of 358 runs given by India. There is a fear of being all out for the lowest number of runs in the World Cup. But after losing 8 wickets for 9 runs with the bat of Mahesh Thikshana and Kasun Rajitha, the Lankans somehow avoided a shameful record. Five Sri Lankan batsmen returned for zero runs today. Kasun Rajitha scored the maximum 14 runs for the Lankans today. In the end, Sri Lanka were all out for 55 runs in 19 overs and 4 balls. And India won by 302 runs.

Adding to Sri Lanka’s danger, Kushal Mendis returned to become Mohammad Siraj’s third victim with just 1 run from 10 balls. He went back after being bowled by Mohammad Siraj. Charith Asalanka and Dushan Hemanta went back in the footsteps of Kushal Mendis. He went back to Mohammad Shami’s double hit.
Charith Asalanka scored 1 run in 24 balls and went back to Sajghar after being caught by Rabindra Jadeja at backward point off Mohammad Shamir.
Dushan Hemanta also returned to the ball after Charith Asalanka’s departure. Shamir took the catch to Lokesh Rahul and made his way to the pavilion. On his departure, the Lankans lost 6 wickets for 14 runs.
After that, Dushmanth Chamira went back to become a victim of Mohammed Shami. Mohammad Shamir said he also caught Lokesh Rahul and returned to the dressing room.
Angelo Mathews returns to become Mohammed Shami’s fourth victim. He returned after being bowled by Mohammad Shamir after scoring 12 runs off 25 balls.
Mahish Thikshana and Kasun Rajitha formed a partnership after 8 wickets for 29 runs. After the departure of this pair, Sri Lanka’s innings stopped at 55 runs. And India won by 302 runs.
Earlier, India lost the toss against Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and lost the toss. They lost the first wicket for just 4 runs. After that, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli led the team.
