
In the second and final Test of the two-match series held in Johannesburg, West Indies scored only 106 runs in response to 391 runs. And with that, the hosts secured the victory by a huge margin of 284 runs and took the series as their own.
Two Windian openers Craig Brathwaite and Tajnarayan Chanderpaul were playing in the beginning with Vishal Laksh in front. But this pair did not last long. After playing 10.4 overs, the two scored only 21 runs. Brathwaite returned home with a personal 18 off Protea pacer Kagiso Rabada.
After adding only 5 runs to the team score, four more batters took the path of Sajghar. And just before the lunch break another one came to the way of the East batters. That’s why the team is in danger of batting at the beginning. Chanderpaul 2, Reifer zero, Blackwood 4 and Meyers 7 runs.
Among the next batters, Joshua de Silva and Jason Holder made small efforts to catch the lead of the team but could not prevent the loss. Silva scored 34 and Holder scored 19 runs. Besides, Kemar Roach 2 and Alzari Joseph scored 18 runs.
Earlier, the two Proteas batsmen Temba Bavuma and Keshav Maharaj came out to bat at the beginning of the day in their second innings. Bavuma added 1 run to his personal score. He got out for 172 runs. Meanwhile, Maharaj scored 10 runs. Besides, 16 runs came from Rabada’s bat. Gerald remained unbeaten on 9 runs.
