Sisanda Magala returned to the team

The South African cricket team will play a three-match ODI series against England at home. The country’s Cricket Board (CSA) has announced a 16-member team for that purpose. Sisanda Malaga got a place in this announced team. He played for the Proteas a year ago.

Magala last played an ODI against India at home in January last year. He was dropped from the team after failing to pass the fitness test. Finally, this pacer returned to the team after scoring 8.30 in that fitness test. Along with that, his performance in the domestic tournament also played a big role in returning to the team.

Magala is the third highest wicket taker in the ongoing SA T20 in South Africa with 3 ODIs. Being in great form, this pacer returned to the national team again. South African National Selection Committee convener Victor Mpitsang said, ‘Magala has been performing well for the past few years. Earlier there was a fitness problem and because of that he was left out of the team.’

South Africa and world champion England will start a three-match ODI series from January 27 in Bloemfontein. The next two ODIs will be on January 29 and February 1 respectively.

South Africa Team:

Temba Bavuma (captain), Quinton de Kock, Reza Hendricks, Marco Janssen, Heinrich Klaasen (wicketkeeper), Sisanda Magala, Keshav Maharaj, Janeman Malan, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Lungi Ngidi, Enrich Nortey, Wayne Parnell, Kagiso Rabada, Tabriz Shamsi and Rasi van der Dusen.
