Silvio Berlusconi discharged from hospital

Former Italian Prime Minister and leader of the centre-right Forza Italia (FI) party, Silvio Berlusconi, was discharged from the hospital where he had been treated for 45 days due to a lung infection.

The 86-year-old leader, who has been treated for lung infection since April 5 at the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, and was diagnosed with “chronic leukemia”, left the hospital after a 45-day treatment period.

Berlusconi, who did not make any statement at the exit, waved to the members of the press waiting for him and drove away.

Although it was written that he would be discharged after a few days in the hospital he was admitted to on April 5 due to cardiovascular problems, Berlusconi was treated in the intensive care unit until April 16, and was transferred to the ward when his condition improved.

Silvio Berlusconi sent a video message from the hospital to his party’s congress on May 6, saying, “Here I am, here for you. I’m wearing a shirt and jacket for the first time in more than a month.” he said.

Power partners welcome Berlusconi’s discharge

Giorgia Meloni, the Prime Minister of the right-wing coalition, where Berlusconi is the ruling partner of his party, and the leader of the Brothers of Italy (FdI), shared on Twitter, “Silvio Berlusconi has been discharged from San Raffaele Hospital in Milan. Very good news. Come on Silvio. Many We are waiting for you on the field for the fight.” used his statements.

Another coalition partner, the leader of the League Party, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Matteo Salvini, also shared on his Instagram account, “Great Silvio, welcome home.” said.

Antonio Tajani, the FI’s coordinator, as well as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the right-wing coalition government, said on his Twitter account, “We are all very happy to have you back home. Welcome President!” made its assessment.

Berlusconi, who was “the longest-serving prime minister in total during the 1994-2011 period” in Italy, caught Kovid-19 in September 2020 and was able to recover after a two-week troubling treatment period.
