Shubman Gill: Shubman Gill again did wonders with the bat, beat PAK player, hit double century

Indian opener Shubman Gill was seen in the first match of the three-match ODI series between India and New Zealand. Gill smashed the Kiwi bowlers fiercely and scored a brilliant double century. Gill completed his century off 87 balls, which included 14 fours and two sixes. After this he scored a double century in 145 balls. This was the third and second consecutive century of Gill’s ODI career. Gill was eventually dismissed for 208 off 149 balls, which included 19 fours and 9 sixes.

During his stormy innings in Hyderabad on Wednesday, Shubman Gill completed his thousand runs in ODI cricket. 23 year old Shubman Gill has completed thousand runs in just 19th inning. Gill has now jointly become the second batsman in the world to score thousand runs in the shortest innings. Gill has also left behind Pakistan captain Babar Azam. Babar Azam had completed his thousand runs in 21 innings.

Fakhar Zaman has a record

Let us tell you that the record of completing thousand runs in the lowest innings in One Day International is in the name of Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman. Fakhar Zaman had completed thousand runs in 18 innings. Gill is now the fastest Indian batsman to complete the fastest thousand runs. Gill left Virat Kohli behind in this matter. Virat Kohli had completed thousand runs in 24 innings. This was Shubman Gill’s third century in the first 19 innings of ODI International. Among Indian players, only Shikhar Dhawan (17) reached his third ODI century in less innings than Gill.

Fastest 1000 runs (One Day International):
1. Fakhar Zaman (Pakistan) – 18 innings
2. Shubman Gill (India) – 19 innings
2. Imam-ul-Haq (Pakistan) – 19 innings
3. Vivian Richards (West Indies) – 21 innings
3. Kevin Pietersen (England/ICC) – 21 innings

3. Quinton Dickock (South Africa) – 21 innings

Due to the way Shubman Gill is batting, now Shikhar Dhawan’s return to the team has become very difficult. It would not be unfair to call Gill the run-machine of Team India in ODI cricket. Gill has scored more than thousand runs in 19 innings so far. During this, three centuries and five half-centuries have come out of his bat, including a double century. That is, in these 19 innings, Gill has definitely touched the figure of 50 runs seven times.
