Sarfaraz Khan Indian Test Team: Star batsman Sarfaraz Khan, who has been consistently performing brilliantly in domestic cricket, seems to be constantly being ignored by the BCCI’s selection committee. Sarfaraz scored 2441 runs in the last three domestic seasons, but till now he has not got a chance to debut in Team India.
While the big thing is that T20’s number-1 batsman Suryakumar Yadav and Ishaan Kishan have got a place in the Indian Test team. In such a situation, many veterans including the fans are also surprised that the player who is performing brilliantly in Ranji Trophy, why is he not getting a place in the Test? What kind of selection scale has been made in which Sarfaraz is not able to fit?
Gavaskar supported Sarfaraz
Questions were being raised about Sarfaraz’s physical fitness for not being selected. So former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar has supported him on this. He lashed out at the selection committee and said that they should do the selection after seeing whether the person is fit for cricket or not.
Gavaskar said that selection should not be done by looking at someone’s body or stature. He lashed out at the BCCI and said that if the selection committee wanted slim and trim boys in the team, they should go to the fashion show.
Scored 4 centuries in last 10 matches
Sarfaraz Khan has scored 4 centuries in the last 10 first class matches. During this, he scored 694 runs in 12 innings of these 10 matches. On the other hand, Suryakumar Yadav and Ishaan Kishan have not made their Test debut yet. While he has represented Team India in ODIs and T20s. Ishaan has done well in both formats, while Surya has proved to be weak in ODIs.
