The Mexican Santiago Giménez continues signing a dream season in Europe, this after becoming the top scorer in his first season in the old continent.
The striker achieved this milestone with a brace in the match against Excelsior, and in which Feyenoord won 2-0.
In the first instance, Bebote, barely at minute 9, took advantage of a pass from Igor Paixao to finish off gently with a header and open the account.
Feyenoord, who aims to become Eredivisie champion, was the master of the match, but could not find a way to reflect that advantage on the scoreboard.
But, it wasn’t until minute 75 when Santiago Giménez again appeared in the area after a filtered pass and sealed the game to the uproar of his teammates. With the result and if Feyenoord wins their next home game against Go Ahead Eagles, they will become Eredivisie champions.
With the goal, Giménez reaches 22 goals in all competitions with Feyenoord, surpassing what was achieved in their first season by Javier Hernández (Manchester United) and Luis García (Atlético de Madrid), who had signed 20 goals in their first campaign.
