“I think we got the most out of the race. We had a very solid race and we were close to the podium,” said the Madrid driver, who is fifth in the World Championship, with 168 points, nine more than his partner, the Monegasque Charles Leclercat COTA.
“After yesterday’s pace in the sprint race I saw it as very complicated, but we did everything almost perfectly and we got a great fourth place,” he acknowledged. Carlos has once again been the side of the coin at Ferrari, while Leclerc was the tailfinishing sixth after starting from pole.
“There have been a couple of laps in which I have taken 1 second from Lando and I thought that the podium was possible. That was unthinkable yesterday but today he must have suffered with the tires and I felt comfortable. In the end I have cut a lot of time but it was not enough,” Sainz added.
