Team India has announced its squad for the T20 World Cup. But there are still many things about which there is confusion. The biggest question in this, which among Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant should be included in the playing-11. Now former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has put forth his opinion on this.
Sunil Gavaskar says that he would like to include both Rishabh and Dinesh Karthik in the playing-11. He said that Rishabh Pant at number five, Hardik Pandya at number six or vice versa. After that Dinesh Karthik can be dropped at number seven.
The former cricketer said that apart from Hardik Pandya, four bowling options can be fed in the team, if you do not take the risk then how will you win. You have to take risk in each of your departments. Significantly, there has been a long debate about who should be fed between Dinesh Karthik or Rishabh Pant.
Rishabh Pant’s performance in the T20 format has not been that good, while Dinesh Karthik has improved his game a lot since IPL 2022 and has emerged as a finisher. Dinesh Karthik got only one match in the Asia Cup, Rishabh Pant was fed in the rest of the match but he proved to be a failure.
Team India’s head coach Rahul Dravid has also mentioned that he is not giving preference to any one wicketkeeper. Rather, we are feeding anyone according to the condition and situation. Rahul Dravid had said that it is very difficult to exclude anyone from playing-11, but we feed only the best playing-11.
The Indian team for T20 World Cup is as follows: Rohit Sharma (capt), KL Rahul (vice-captain), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Rishabh Pant (wk), Dinesh Karthik (wk), Hardik Pandya, R.K. Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh.
standby player – Mohammed Shami, Shreyas Iyer, Ravi Bishnoi, Deepak Chahar.
