Rayo picks up a run with its second away win

Rayo Vallecano achieved their second victory of the course and settled in the top squad of the standings by beating Granada 0-2 this Monday at Nuevo Los Cármenes, who have not yet scored points in the campaign for their return to LaLiga.

After enjoying both teams several clear chances, Álvaro García made it 0-1 in the 75th minute with a tight shot after a sensational back-heel assist from Unai López, while four minutes later the Senegalese sealed the match Pathe Cissfinishing the locals in numerical inferiority due to the red card to Antonio Puertas in the 85th minute.

Both teams signed an even and entertaining first half, but no goalswith a more dominating Rayo at the start and a Granada that grew in the clash as the minutes went by.

After the game was stopped for about a minute due to a brief power outage that left the pitch in the dark, the Portuguese goalkeeper André Ferreira had to make several interventions to avoid the goal of a very vertical Lightning.

First, a shot from Frenchman Randy Nteka and then a couple of direct freekicks from Frenchman Florin Lejeune, in one of them the Portuguese also successfully shot off Óscar Valentín’s rebound.

El Rayo attacked well but did not cover their backs wellwhich almost took advantage of the Albanian Myrto Uzuni, Granada’s starting center forward awaiting transfers after the departure of the young Samu Omorodion to Atlético de Madrid, in a counterattack at quarter of an hour.

the macedonian Stole Dimitrievski also had work in the rayista goalfirst with a shot from Ignasi Miquel and then two good individual plays by the young Bryan Zaragoza, the most dangerous player of the first half.

In the second half the script of balance was maintained, with Dimitrievski saving Rayo again, this time in a counter finished by José Callejón.

The people of Madrid had the ball more than Granada and Isi Palazón, not very active for what is usual for him, tested André from afar.

The best play of the game came at game time with another sensational gallop from Bryan, whose shot ended up on the post. The rejection was sent by Sergio Ruiz out. It was the key action of the crash.

Rayo did not forgive, which in the 75th minute scored 1-0 in a stumbled play in the local area that ended with the assistance of Unai López with a heel to score Álvaro García with a kick directed to one side of the goal of a static André.

With no time for the local reaction, only four minutes later and with a hydration break in between, Pathe Ciss scored the 0-2 assist from Raúl de Tomás in play started by Álvaro García.

Any option for a local reaction went down the drain with Antonio Puertas being sent off with a direct red card in the 85th minute for a tackle on Óscar Valentín.

Already in the added time, Rayo forgave the 0-3 in the boots of Tiago Manuel Dias ‘Beb” and Pathe Ciss and Granada 1-2 through the mediation of Uzuni and the Senegalese Famara Diedhiou.
