Rajasthan topped the table after beating Gujarat

In the Indian Premier League (IPL) match on Sunday night, Shimron Hetmyer and Sanju Samson’s brilliant batting saw Rajasthan Royals beat Gujarat Titans by 3 wickets to top the points table. Gujarat scored 177 runs at the start of batting. In response, Rajasthan won with 4 balls and 3 wickets in hand.

As a result of this victory, Rajasthan single-handedly topped the table with 8 points from 5 matches. Gujarat is third in the table with 6 points from even number of matches. Lucknow Super Giants are at number two in the table with equal points. Meanwhile, Punjab Kings, who are at number four, also have 6 points.

Rajasthan captain Jos Buttler won the toss and decided to bowl at the start of the match held on Sunday night. Gujarat got a challenging score of 177 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs without any batsman’s half-century. Opener Shubman Gill scored 45 runs off 34 balls. South Africa’s David Miller scored 46 off 30 balls. And Rajasthan pacer Sandeep Sharma took 2 wickets.

In response to 178 runs, Rajasthan lost 2 wickets for 4 runs and was in danger at the beginning. However, Samson brought the team back into the fight with a responsible innings of 60 runs off 32 balls with 3 fours and 6 sixes in the middle order. After Samson’s departure, Hetmyer left the field to ensure Rajasthan’s victory by playing an impeccable innings of 56 runs from 26 balls.

Hetmyer finished his innings with 2 fours and 5 sixes. Mohammad Sami of Gujarat took 3 wickets. Hetmyer was man of the match.
