The Ministry of Public Works and Communications announced this Monday that it will submit to “deep” and “advanced” studies the structures of the main bridges of Greater Santo Domingo, including the emblematic Juan Pablo Duartedue to its age and the constant traffic flow.
The studies review will also be held at the Juan Bosch, the Ramon Matias Mella and Francisco del Rosario Sánchez, explained in a statement the head of Public Works, Deligne Ascensión.
Ascension said that those bridges and other public works, with several decades of construction, “have not had adequate maintenance or repairs that have been required to operate with the efficiency that permanently guarantees the security and the well-being of its users.
Public Works, which will contact the General Directorate of Public Procurement and Contracting To start these consultations, it will carry out “a schedule that ensures the proper functioning of the entrance and exit bridges of Greater Santo Domingo,” the note added.
