A human chain has been formed demanding the withdrawal of BCB’s personnel and goods from the Shahid Chandu Stadium in Bogra. This human chain was made under the banner of Bogra residents in Satmatha of the city on Saturday afternoon.
Around 300 people from various professions including former and present sports players, politicians, businessmen of Bogra participated in the human chain.
The speakers in this human chain organized by Bogra District Chhatra League vice-president and sports organizer Mukul Islam said that it is a hot decision to close the activities of BCB from the stadium by alleging non-cooperation of the district sports organization. This ridiculous decision of BCB is a shame for the people of Bogra. Bogra produced players like Mushfiqur Rahim, Shafiul Suhas, Tauhid Hridoy, Tamim. BCB has been behaving in a safe manner since the beginning at the Chandu Stadium in Bogra. Bogra Stadium is as standard as any international venue. There, instead of taking care of this field, they created new fields and wasted crores of rupees. If the BCB does not open an international venue with their activities at the Chandu Stadium in Bogra immediately, a long march will be made. BCB should return international games to this venue soon.
Under the chairmanship of sports organizer KM Mahbub Zion, additional general secretary of Bogra District Sports Association and Publicity Secretary of District Awami League Sultan Mahmud Khan Roni, business leader Parimal Prasad Raj, General Secretary of District Chhatra League, General Secretary of District Cricketers Forum Mehdi Hasan and others addressed the gathering. many
