The production of drinking water was reduced by 139.55 million gallons per day due to the drought that affects the country, reported Thursday the Santo Domingo Aqueduct and Sewerage Corporation (CAASD).
The general director of the entity, Felipe Suberví, indicated through a press release that all assistance measures in the supply of drinking water continue to be activated to guarantee the service.
Among the measures carried out by the CAASD, there is the supply of water with tanker trucks to the most affected sectors, a balance in the days of supply, awareness of the correct use of the liquid, among others.
Regarding the level of the dams, they have presented a slight decrease compared to last week, passing the valdesia dam from 139.97 cubic meters above sea level to 139.87 at this time, its maximum level being 150 cubic meters.
While, the jigüey dam It had 509.92 cubic meters and now houses 509.45, infrastructure that has a maximum limit of 541.50 cubic meters.
