Portugal’s big win with Ronaldo’s double

Ronaldo scored twice as Portugal cruised to a 5-0 win over Bosnia in 2024 European Championship qualifiers on Monday night. By winning this match, Ronaldo has maintained his winning streak in eight consecutive matches.

The flood of goals in the match started from the fifth minute. Portuguese star Ronaldo scored the first goal from the penalty. The referee gave a penalty for putting the ball in the hands of Bosnian defender Adrian Barisic in the box. Cristiano Ronaldo is in great form by scoring a pair of goals against Slovakia in the previous match as well.

In the 19th minute, teammate Fernandez missed a golden opportunity to score, but Ronaldo paid it back in the next minute. The 38-year-old doubled the lead in the 20th minute of the match when he received Felix’s pass in the box and sent the ball over the head of the advancing goalkeeper into the net. The linesman initially declared offside, but the referee later changed the decision on VAR.

With these two goals, Ronaldo is at the top of men’s football with 127 international goals.

Fernandez increased the gap with a great goal in the 25th minute. Joao Cancelo made the gap 4-0 in 32 minutes. And before the break of the first half, Joao Felix gave Portugal a 5-0 lead. This goal was also initially disallowed for offside and later awarded on VAR.

The second half saw no more goals from either side. When Portugal’s coach took Ronaldo off the field in the second half, Portugal’s attack edge decreased. As a result, Ronaldo’s team left the field with a 5-0 victory. Portugal topped Group J after winning all eight matches.
