A police officer patrolling the US state of Florida rushed to the aid of a woman who was about to give birth in a car parked on the side of the highway. The moments when the police officer assisted in the birth were reflected on the body camera.
The incident occurred on April 30 in Hillsborough, Florida, USA. The driver of the car parked on the side of the highway, saying that his wife was about to give birth, asked for help in panic from police officer Daniel Red Jones, who was patrolling the area. Police officer Red Jones went to the parked car and helped the woman give birth. It was stated that as a result of Jones’ help, the woman gave birth to a baby girl.
BABY NAMED ‘RED’
The Hillsborough Sheriff’s Department said the baby was healthy. The family named the baby after the police officer. Hillsborough Sheriff Chad Chronister said: “I am extremely proud of Officer Jones’s rapid action and dedication to serving our community in every capacity. This is the third time he has helped deliver a citizen. I wish mom, dad and baby girl happiness. Congratulations.”
