At Sony they can not only boast that sales of the PS5 have multiplied exponentially since they solved the stock problems. Now, in addition, they are seeing how The Last of Us Part 1 and The Last of Us Part 2 are among the best-selling games. The reason? Well, the HBO Max series is breaking it every weekend and this, of course, is boosting the marketing of the games.
According to the information provided by Sony itself through the PSBlog, Part 2 was the best-selling digital game during February in the United States, Canada and Europe. For his part, The Last of Us Remastered it was ranked ninth in the North American countries, while in the old continent it reached seventh place.
The Last of Us Part 1, which is currently only available on the PS5, also increased its sales considerably. In the United States and Canada it was the sixth best-selling game, while in Europe it was the seventh. Be careful, on March 28 it arrives on PC.
This is undoubtedly great news for Sony. Exclusive titles usually reach a sales peak and rarely do they have such a noticeable momentum again years after their release. In this case, however, they owe everything to the success of the television production.
Since its premiere, the series has increased its audience week after week. In fact, according to a Nielsen analysis, its premiere has already surpassed that of the house of the dragonan achievement that few —or no one— expected.

The Last of Us It is the premiere of the year and you can only see it on HBO Max
The extraordinary reception of The Last of Us on the small screen has shown Sony that, when an adaptation is done correctly, it can attract more audiences to the playable experiences. Many people who have never played the games want to experience and influence Joel and Ellie’s adventure through a controller.
And it is that the series, as expected, is developing the characters in a deeper way than the games. The moments of action, therefore, have passed into the background. It is for this reason that a good number of viewers want to know what it is like to constantly face the clickers and human antagonists.
This sudden growth in sales should be taken as a reference by Sony to, in the future, dedicate the same effort not only in the next seasons of The Last of Usbut also in the rest of the films and series based on PlayStation video games that they will launch.
It should not be forgotten that Sony and PlayStation Productions have already given the green light to the series of Horizon Zero Down (Netflix), god of war (Amazon Prime Video) and Twisted Metal (peacock). On the side of the movies they are not far behind, as they are confirmed Grand Touring and Ghost of Tsushima.
