Paula Badosa defeats Marta Kostyuk and advances to the round of 16 in Rome

The Spanish tennis player Paula Badosa has advanced to the round of 16 of the tournament in Rome, WTA 1,000 category and played on clayafter beating the Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk (6-4, 6-2) this Sunday, and now meets the Czech Karolina Muchova.

Despite starting the match at the Foro Italico with a 2-0 lossthe Catalan was able to neutralize the ‘break’ in the sixth game, although the world number 40 responded with a ‘counterbreak’. The one from Begur, however, took the sleeve by winning the last three games.

After winning her first serve of the first set, Badosa broke his opponent’s serve again and began an exchange of breaks that was interrupted in the seventh game, when he managed to defend his serve before closing the duel in one hour and 32 minutes with another break.

The Spaniard, who also reached the round of 16 at the Mutua Madrid Openwill now seek the ticket for the quarterfinals against the Czech Karolina Muchova, who also beat the Italian Camila Giorgi this Sunday in two sets (7-6 (4), 6-2).
