Organizations agree to promote university research

The Ministries of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Mescyt) and Education (Minerd) promoted the signing of an agreement to promote research through academic cooperation.

The agreement seeks to make it easier for universities to contribute resources for the execution of research projects, motivating the participation of teachers and students.

Likewise, it contemplates the exchange of experiences and information, both written, technical and audiovisual, between researchers, Mescyt specified in a note.

“Our ministry promotes through the National Fund for Scientific and Technological Innovation and Development, that higher education institutions submit research projects. To cite an example, this year we plan to invest more than 600 million pesos and we also hold the Student Congress for Scientific and Technological Research (Ceicyt)”, said the Minister of Mescyt, Franklin García Fermín.

The pact was also signed by the Minister of Education, Ángel Hernández, and directors of the country’s university associations.

Hernández stressed that education will improve to the extent that more is known about the problems that affect it, being transcendental research to identify the different factors that affect the proper functioning of the system.
