New Zealand Players in IPL 2023: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season is going to start on 31 March. The first match is going to be between the defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). But before this the New Zealand Cricket Board has given a good news to the IPL franchises.
The Kiwi Board has kept its players playing in the IPL out of the Sri Lanka series for this league. Now star Kiwi players including New Zealand team captain Kane Williamson will be able to play in the IPL. Let us inform that New Zealand has to play 3 ODIs and as many T20 matches against Sri Lanka till 8th April.
These players will join the IPL team after playing the second test
Apart from Kane Williamson, fast bowler Tim Southee, opener Devon Conway and spinner Mitchell Santner have not been selected for the white ball series against Sri Lanka. By the way, a Test match between New Zealand and Sri Lanka will be played from March 17. After this all these players will leave for India for IPL.
Williamson has been bought by Gujarat Titans. Saudi will be seen playing for Kolkata Knight Riders. Both Conway and Centren will play for Chennai Super Kings. That is, teams of three players have to play the opening match of this IPL season.

Apart from these, New Zealand’s Finn Allen, Lockie Ferguson and Glenn Phillips also have to play in the IPL, but all three have to play the first ODI of the series for the Sri Lanka series, which will be held on March 25. After this these players will also join their team in IPL.
Finn Allen will be seen playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Lockie Ferguson Kolkata team and Glenn Phillips Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL. While in the absence of Williamson, the responsibility of captaincy in the series against Sri Lanka will be on the shoulders of Tom Latham.
