New Zealand in trouble after losing five wickets for 90 runs

New Zealand lost 5 wickets for 90 runs to bat against the target of 358 runs given by South Africa. In pursuit of the target, the Kiwis stumbled early today. They lost the opening pair by 8 team runs. Devon Conway returned to the dugout after being caught at second slip by Marco Jansen for just 2 runs off 6 balls.

Will Young and Rachin Ravindra formed a partnership after the first wicket went for 8 runs. The pair try to save the team from disaster. But this pair was broken by Rachin Ravindra’s dismissal for 45 runs. He returned as Marco Jansen’s second victim with 9 runs off 16 balls.

Another opener, Will Young, also went back in the footsteps of Rachin Ravindra. He returned as a victim of Gerlad Koetz by scoring 33 runs off 37 balls. The team’s run was then 56. Then Tom Latham returned with a catch in the hands of Mahraj from Rabadar for 67 runs. He scored 4 runs off 15 balls. Daryl Mitchell was dismissed for 90 runs.

Earlier, after losing the toss and going into bat, Quinton de Kock and Rassie von der Dussen scored a couple of centuries and David Miller’s half century, South Africa scored 357 runs losing 4 wickets in the scheduled 50 overs. Now New Zealand is batting with a target of 358 runs to win.
