New date problem for Málaga CF in La Rosaleda

Málaga CF may be involved, once again, in a date change episode in a home match. The Spanish women’s team will play a match against Sweden on December 5 in La Rosaleda, this duel could mean a potential problem for the blue and white team in the Copa del Rey.

The calendar indicates that the matches of the second round of the cup competition must be played on December 5, 6 and 7, dates that coincide with the National Team match. And Málaga CF already knows that they will have to play this tie at home, because they will face a rival from the Second or First Division.

The blue and white team was already harmed by the assignment of La Rosaleda for the Kings and Queens League dispute, on October 14.

Consequences

Málaga will play the second round of the Copa del Rey at home. There are only 12 teams from the Second or Third RFEF – there could be three more – compared to the 32 teams from the First or Second division and the other 8 from the first RFEF, waiting for the two games postponed due to weather conditions to be played and resolve the improper alignment of Granada against Arosa.

The option of playing just one or two days after the national team’s game would mean bad news for the Boquerón team, since it may find a worn-out lawn in poor condition. And furthermore, if the match were played on Thursday the 7th, he would have little rest before his visit to Mérida on Sunday the 10th.

Thus, Málaga CF will request a date change so that the match can be played without problems at La Rosaleda and also does not affect Sergio Pellicer’s team’s schedule too much. For now we will have to wait a few days to find out what everything turns out to be.

Draw date

The draw for the second round of the Copa del Rey is in doubt. The event was scheduled for Tuesday, November 7, but the Federation prefers to wait for the two games postponed by the Ciarán storm to be played to make the match. The RFEF is considering the option of doing it on Friday, November 10, but the decision is not yet final. Málaga CF will have to wait a few more days to find out their rival in the second round of the competition.
