Against Lucknow Super Giants, Gujarat Titans won by 7 runs in the last over with a capital of 135 runs. Batting with a simple target, they scored 105 runs in the 14th over. That too by losing only one wicket. Such was the case that there were very few people betting on Gujarat’s side. Because Lucknow needed only 31 runs from 36 balls to win. But it proved again that cricket is sometimes a game of uncertainty. Lucknow took the easy winning match to the last over.
At one point the situation was such that Gujarat pacer Mohit Sharma had to defend 12 runs to win. Lokesh Rahul collects two runs from him in the first ball. But Gujarat found wickets in the next four balls. Rahul and Marcus Stoinis were hunted back by Mohit. Then Aayush Badoni and Deepak Hooda had to return to Sajghar after falling into the trap of run out. Gujarat’s victory was assured then. Lucknow’s innings stopped at 128 runs for 7 wickets despite taking 1 run from the last ball.
Mohit won the man of the match award for his brilliant bowling in the last over. This right-handed pacer took 2 wickets with 17 runs. Two wickets went to the pocket of Afghan spinner Noor Ahmed.
Earlier, at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium, Gujarat won the toss and went into bat to post a total of 135 for 6.
