President Erdoğan, who came to Vilnius yesterday for the summit, met with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who held a press conference after the meeting, announced that Turkey gave the green light to Sweden’s NATO membership. Stating that he is pleased that Sweden’s NATO accession protocol will be brought to the Turkish Grand National Assembly as soon as possible, Stoltenberg said, “This is a contribution to our fight against terrorism and to Turkey’s security.”
