
Afghanistan’s middle-order batsman Najibullah Zadran has been ruled out of the ongoing three-match ODI series against Pakistan. He is out of the field with a knee injury.
Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has confirmed this on social media Twitter.
Zadran was an important batsman in Afghanistan’s batting line-up. He scored 1 century and 15 half-centuries in 2013 in 88 ODIs.
Left-handed batsman Shahidullah returned to the national team after more than a year and a half due to Jadran’s injury. He has played 1 Test and ODI for the country. He made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe in 2021 and against Netherlands in 2022. After that, he was knocked out by the team. Shahidullah could not open the account of runs in the test yet. He scored 1 run in ODI. Apart from batting, Shahidullah can also spin bowling as needed by the team.
Afghanistan started ODI series against Pakistan from yesterday. Afghans lost the first ODI by 142 runs due to batting failure.
The remaining two ODIs of the series will be held on August 24 and 26 respectively. After the bilateral series, Pakistan and Afghanistan will participate in the Asia Cup.
