Sher-e Bangla Stadium in Mirpur was soaked by heavy rain. However, Tiger pacer Mustafizur Rahman sent two Kiwi batsmen to the dressing room as soon as the game started again at 4:30 pm after field preparation. Both were caught behind the wicket.
The two batsmen who got out were Finn Allen and Chad Bowes. Their individual collections are 9 and 1 respectively. Till writing this report, New Zealand’s total is 26 with the loss of 2 wickets from 10 overs.
Earlier on Thursday, Bangladesh sent the visiting New Zealand into bat after winning the toss. The match starts at 2 PM at Mirpur Sher-e Bangla Stadium. Will Young and Finn Allen were invited to bat for New Zealand.
But after 4 overs 3 balls were played, torrential rain started. The players of both teams ran to the dressing room. Field workers covered the field. As the game was stopped for a long time, this ongoing match between Bangladesh and New Zealand went into 42 overs.
Three stars Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah Riyad and Soumya Sarkar have returned to Bangladesh’s squad for Thursday’s match. None of them were in the Tigers camp at the recently concluded Asia Cup. Besides, Bangladesh has brought several changes in the bowling attack.
